When selecting a valve, there should be important selection criteria in the following areas. Therefore, the sealing surface material must be resistant to corrosion. The corrosion resistance of a material mainly depends on the strength of the material and its chemical stability. The second is scratch resistance, which is the damage to the material caused by friction during the relative movement of the sealing surface. Such damage will inevitably lead to the destruction of the sealing surface. The third is erosion resistance, which is the process of destroying the sealing surface when the medium flows through the sealing surface at a high speed. This damage is more obvious in the throttle valve and safety valve used in high temperature and high pressure steam medium, which has a great influence on the sealing damage. In addition, the linear expansion coefficient of the sealing surface and the body material should be similar, which is more important for the structure of the sealing ring, so as to avoid extra stress and loosening at high temperature. There are also problems such as sufficient oxidation resistance, thermal fatigue resistance and thermal cycling when used under high temperature conditions.
In addition to the above requirements, there must be a certain hardness, and the hardness will decrease greatly at the specified working temperature. Therefore, these aspects, especially the hardness, are very important when carrying out the STL process of the surfacing welding of the sealing surface of the pneumatic V-shaped ball valve.
